What the heck happened to getting a fare price for a ride home from DTW?? Arrived from NYC. after paying $40 for a 20 min cab ride to LGA, to Detroit airport. The only option from DTW , from what I could discern. was $70 for a 20 min. cab ride. After asking a few questions about where all the yellow cabs went, a young obnoxious metro car coordinator, with attitude, wished me luck on finding a ride home. What the heck happened to the cabs at metro, please?!
Here's the thing... since Metro Cars and their Nazis took over the airport, I had been dreading parking my shiny new car anywhere near their commissioned vehicles.
I started using Metro Airport Taxi about a year ago. I love these guys. My regular driver, Syed, I can call on whenever, and he'll be right at my door with a smile ready to carry my luggage right to the curb at Metro.
When I had the red eye from Edmonton, and my lost luggage made it back before I did to Detroit, Syed was there at 5:45 am ready to laugh with me about it.
They are prompt, have clean cars, reasonably priced, and a heck of a lot better than other services I've used.
Use these guys, and tell your friends. Since Metro Cars weaseled the only airport contract, they can only go in to the airport if you pre-arrange. No more curbside folks.
Oh, and be sure to tell your friends.
Horrible customer service. No one ever answers the phone here when calling for service. I've tried several times, no luck. Don't waste your time.
