Book limo for Jesse Colin Young

Rams Head on Stage
33 West Street, Annapolis, MD, 21401

For 50 years Jesse Colin Young has been singing songs about peace, relationships and the environment. From his folk days in Boston and his first record, Soul Of a City Boy, he has articulated and recorded the tumultuous times of the 60s, 70s, 80s to the present, while reminding us that it is all about family, community and the precious natural world we live in. His musical style is now considered Americana, but in fact it's his unique fusion of jazz, blues, folk and rock with an emphasis on his extraordinary voice that makes his signature sound.Jesses career is best defined by his recording of Get Together with the Youngbloods. In 1969 this one song pivoted him onto the stadium and outdoor concert scene. His touring schedule was with the rock band A-listers of the era: Led Zeppelin, Crosby, Stills, Nash and Young, The Doors, Janis Joplin, The Grateful Dead, Jefferson Airplane, The Beach Boys,The Allman Brothers, Steve Miller Band, Van Morrison and many others.

Book limousine for Acoustic Alchemy

Rams Head on Stage
33 West Street, Annapolis, MD, 21401

For more than 25 years, Acoustic Alchemy has pushed the limits of the acoustic guitars potential by embracing a spectrum of musical styles ranging from straight-ahead jazz to folk to rock to world music and beyond. For a lot of people, instrumental music is just a sound that plays in the background, says Greg Carmichael. But we put a lot into it - Id like to think that after all these years, weve learned how to take people on a journey. A lot of our fans have said that we do that for them. As long as they keep coming back, and as long as they want to stay on that journey, well keep doing what were doing."

The Crescent Ballroom
308 N. 2nd Ave., Phoenix, AZ, 85003

Since 2007 French electro-popper Yelle has risen to be a leading lady in the world of European pop music. With a keen interest in fashion and feel for popular culture, she's been able to take her quirky sound from her French roots to the world at large, playing some of the biggest festivals and farthest flung cities. With two albums - Pop Up and Safari Disco Club - and countless live shows around the world under her belt, It's hard to think of any other current artists that have managed to go global in the way Yelle has, whilst singing entirely in their native language, but this is one girl whose beautifully melodic compositions seem translate. Whether or not fans have any idea what she is actually singing about!'I don't know what you mean but it means a lot to me' the catch phrase from her 2013 song L'Amour Parfait is quite the perfect summary for Yelle has that certain Je ne sais quoi you won't be able to escape.2014 will see her return with a third album which she will start giving fans a glimpse at at select festivals starting as soon as this spring.

Book limousine for Our Lady Peace

Gas Monkey Live!
10110 Technology Blvd, Dallas, TX, 75220

When Mark Van Doren, the American poet and teacher, wrote his famous work, "Our Lady Peace" in 1943, he couldn't have imagined the concept of rock'n'roll, let alone that a Canadian rock group would adopt his title for their name. Consisting of Raine Maida, Duncan Coutts, and Steve Mazur, Our Lady Peace is one of the most successful bands in Canada today. The band has sold over 5 million albums worldwide, won four JUNO Awards and ten Much Music Video Awards - one of the most MMVA's ever awarded to any artist or group. In 2009 the band released their seventh studio release, titled Burn Burn to critical accolades and was certified Gold in Canada. The bands most recent album Curve debuted in the Top 10 of Canadas national album sales chart. Curve was recorded with co-producer Jason Lader (Laders impressive resume includes production work on Jay-Zs 99 Problems, along with Mars Volta, Julian Casablancas, Rilo Kiley, Elvis Costello and Noah & the Whale). The albums first single, Heavyweight is charted at #1 on Canadas Mainstream Rock radio airplay chart. The band has been busy working on a new album slated for release later this year.

RBC Dallas

French band founded in 2005 by lead singer and namesake Yelle (Julie Budet) and GrandMarnier (Jean-Franois Perrier). The name of the band is an acronym for "You Enjoy Life" (Yel), but was later feminised to "Yelle" because a Belgian band was already using the former. They rose to fame on MySpace with a song called "Short Dick Cuizi" (later renamed as "Je Veux Te Voir") in which they diss Cuizinier (TTC) in a humorous way. This song caught the attention of the label Source Etc, which signed a record deal for their first album, Pop Up. At this point, French DJ Tepr joined the band and produced a very succesful remix of their song Cause Des Garons, making it an instant hit and one of the main representations of the Tecktonik style. After a long world tour and a few collaborations (highlighting the succesful Parle Ma Main with Fatal Bazooka), they released their second album (Safari Disco Club) in 2011, which didn't achieve the sales success of its predecessor but also had a huge world tour and made Yelle the opening band for Katy Perry's UK tour. After that, Tepr left the group to focus on his solo career, but Dr. Luke (who had discovered them in 2009 with their remix of Katy's Hot N Cold) contacted them and they started working together on their third studio album, Compltement Fou, released on September 2014.

Book limousine for The Temptations & The Four Tops in Concert

Arena Theatre
7326 South West Freeway, Houston, TX, 77074

By popular demand the Arena Theatre is bringing back the legends of Motown to the legendary Theatre in the round, when The Temptations, and the Four Tops, return on Saturday, November 11.

The Temptations
The Emperors of Soul. Recognizable to a man, this unique blend of voices and blade-sharp choreography (“The Temptation Walk”!) is one of the defining legacies of Motown Records. The group has thirty-seven Top 40 hits to their credit, including fifteen Top 10 tunes and a quartet which soared to No. 1. On the R&B charts? They have fifteen No. 1 singles, and seventeen No. 1 albums. The titles alone summon memories beyond measure: “The Way You Do The Things You Do,” “My Girl,” “Ain’t Too Proud To Beg," “I Wish It Would Rain,” “Cloud Nine,” “Just My Imagination (Running Away With Me),” “Papa Was A Rollin’ Stone.” For always, the Temptations are sunshine on a cloudy day.

The Four Tops
One of the premier soul groups of all time, the Four Tops were a mainstay of the Motown sound. Levi Stubbs, Abdul "Duke" Fakir, Renaldo "Obie" Benson, and Lawrence Payton were boyhood friends in Detroit who gave it a go at a friend's birthday party in 1954 and found they were pretty good at it. As the Four Tops, they were unable to find a radio audience until they met up with Berry Gordy, Jr. and his hot Motown label. In 1964 Motown songwriting stars Holland, Dozier, and Holland came up with a song for the Tops called "Baby I Need Your Lovin'." Its charting in August went to number 11 Pop and R&B. Their first monster hit, "I Can't Help Myself" ("Sugar Pie Honey Bunch") was followed by "The Same Old Song," and hits like "Something About You," "Shake Me, Wake Me," "Bernadette," and “Walk Away Renee."

Book limo for Noah Gundersen

Wonder Ballroom
128 NE Russel Street, Portland, OR, 97212

with Phoebe Bridgers
In America today, anyone can engage in spiritual surrender. Performing the rite is simple: one rst gathers with their community in a room of mirrors (in peripheral vision these mirrors appear as windows). Next, the agendas, hopes, and grievances of each individual are written down and cast along pulsed radio frequencies to data centers. From here they are automatically sifted through a neural network of graphics processing units, and contributed to an articial intelligence engine. The principal aim of the ritual is to preserve the cosmic movement of collective perception. Secondary aims include catharsis, prosperity, and (occasionally) procreation. Because of the persistence of social stresses and mounting political dread, the rituals cyclic performance is necessary (twice daily, once at dusk and once at dawn).Paradoxically, even those who question the efcacy of this tradition must do so from within the same framework, in the form of status updates, tweets, or blog posts. In the early part of 2017 Noah wrote: This is our voice. The Aether. An invisible platform. A maze of wires and boxes safely containing our proclamations While white men with pens close their doors, stuff their ears with cotton, and break the world... we piss in the ocean we drown in white noise.(Once upon a time, Noah Gundersen poetically sang that the storms which make us tremble also ll our organs up with air,...allowing us to sing honest songs. What of our songs now? Are they just piss in the ocean? White Noise?) A longtime fan responded via Facebook, referring to the entry as a goddamn dumpster re of a post.Your early records are masterpieces, he commented, ...but this scramble to be anything but what your parents are is killing your authenticity. Authenticity can be a ckle mistress it seems. Noah has been peddling sincerity and introspection in musical form for almost a decade; songs that give listeners a taste of the emotional nectar in the pit of another humans gut. Hes been dredging up viscous stfulls of his own being and shaping them into little waxen votives, candles meant to illuminate the territory between shameless confession and hopeless redemption, for all of the other twenty-somethings whove been groping around in that long existential shadow. At some point this whole process must have lost its charm. It was two years ago that Noah, like some artistic ouroboros, began to sing the words Am I earning the right to live by looking in a mirror? Theres nothing more sincere than selsh art? The cyclic ritual of self-induced nausea, staring in the mirror mouth agape, waiting to wretch new words and sounds, was catching up with him. Not long after, in the early part of 2016, he sat down for a show and felt like he was dying.Instead of my life up to that point ashing before my eyes, it was my future. A future playing songs I didnt believe in... pouring my soul out into a vehicle I no longer recognized or loved.Noah turned to a fellow songwriter, who shared this mote of reassurance from dancer and choreographer Martha Graham: No artist is pleased... There is only a queer divine dissatisfaction, a blessed unrest that keeps us marching and makes us more alive than the others. This crisis was an opportunity for the serpent to relinquish hold of its own tail, for forward motion. To turn his gaze away from reection, and maybe instead at the mirror itself, alternate voices and distorted perceptions that throw their weight onto the human psyche in powerful ways, but evade expression in introspective storytelling. So, thats White Noise, I think: the uorescent glow of queer divine dissatisfaction. The distorted buzz manufactured by dumb metal phalluses thrust into a vacuum of waves and signals. It doesnt dwell on (and in fact seems uninterested in) introspection. Not a guiding light. Not the reasoned problem-solving of the ego, but the muddled demands of the id. Its a myriad of interpolated signals, symbols, and voices, like a tube-TV greedily ipping through channels on auto-program:Heavy Metals is cosmic dismay thats been pasted over with a sugary synth veneer. Cocaine, Sex, and Alcohol (From a Basement in L.A.), like a messy public broadcast, leverages a din of drunken band sounds and disoriented muttering, Ive got all this alcohol do you wanna see my show? The decadent yearning of Bad Desire sits between the other songs of dissolution like a soap opera broadcasting alongside the evening news. Just as Noah nishes crooning the nal honey-sweet chorus, ...and I wanna see you tonight, one last time, we transition into night sweats, the frantic yelling of sleep terrors, all heralding the cathartic industrial funeral dirge of Wake Me Up, Im Drowning. Noah is no longer lighting votives, but dumpster resbig, bright, symbolic and chaotic. Musical vignettes of combustion, rubbish, degeneracy and, perhaps most comfortingly, warmth; because sometimes overlooked in the mad grasping for heady, introspective Authenticity is music thats heartfelt. In The Sound, Noah scourges a source of entitlement that is entirely ambiguous, but does so with a sort of exasperated conviction that is only ever reserved for ones nation, ones God, or ones self. The words How many times will you shit on what youre given? How many times till you shut up and listen? escape his throat with a desperation that (bafingly) surpasses even his most vulnerable songs about heartbreak, addiction, or loss of faith. Whether the voices he channels are symbolic or literal, paralyzed with fear or pushing a manic brand of salvation, each amounts to something laced with warm, ruddy veins (I have a feeling that Noahs music always will). If you listen closely youll hear the spiritualist, who takes solace in the fact that when hes gone, the water in his body may be the beginning of something new. Theres also the doomsayer, certain of his fate, but still so afraid, who cant help but ask of his own violent trembling, Are these my feet attempting to dance? Then theres mortality, trying to shout through all of the noise, Send my love to everyone.White Noise was produced by Nate Yaccino and features long-time band-members and collaborators Abby Gundersen, Jonny Gundersen, and Micah Simler. It will be released into the Aether on September 22nd, 2017.

"OPTICA," by Bebban Stenborg Time is a complicated thing, I've always known that. And as "always" is a reference to time, and time is a relative concept, don't believe anything I say about it except this: Ten years is a very long time, when you're young. Back when we were 'four boys and one girl who play together in a band,' I don't know if any of us bothered to think much about where we would be ten years later. I know that if I did, it was in terms of how much longer I thought it would take for ten years to pass. There was a time when we were dragging our instruments along Camden Road on our way from the underground to our very first London show, stopping every other minute for me to catch up with the taller members of our unit, in the hopes of someone having miraculously come up with a painless way to lug an entire orchestra across town on foot. A man at a gas station shouted at us from across the road: "Don't worry, in ten years you will think back at this moment and laugh!" It was nice of him, and I think I might have held onto that one shout, not as words of solace or reassurance, but as an absolute truth. We have looked back and laughed at moments of almost picturesque struggle, many times, but that's not what I'm talking about. I just always knew that we would last through the years, and I pinned that certainty onto the man and what he said, as one does when one knows something one can't explain any better than that. What I didn't know back then, however, was that years travel by at the speed of light. "Optica," our fourth album, was built on a foundation of those two basic and elusive ideas -- time and light. Time, because although we have been known to take our fair share of it between releases, this became the album where we made a conscious decision not to let time be anything but an anonymous passer-by. Seasons came and went while we plodded along in the studio, below ground, where the only references to time passing was whether the space heater was on or off and whether we felt hungry or not. All the while, we were discussing times long since past in lyrics and musical references, as well as the future, of music, of ourselves, and the world above us. 2013 is meant to be the year of our band's 10th anniversary. According to apocalyptic prophecies it is also meant to be the end of time -- lights out. During our time underground we have thoroughly discussed both possible scenarios. As far as light goes, it may seem excessive to proclaim its significance. But ask anyone living within or bordering on the Arctic circle and they will most likely have more to say about it than folks from other latitudes. We don't take it for granted. Actual doctors prescribe light to us as a cure for ailments and deficiencies. There are places you can go to receive synthetic sunlight for lack of the real thing during the long winter. When the light returns to our part of the world in the spring, the metamorphosis of our inhabitants is as shocking as it is endearing, year after year. Over this past year, our band has constantly talked about light. For some of us it has had a lot to do with photography and visual ideas, everything from light design on stage to finding a shade of a color that says something beyond its name. For me it has been about how one can perceive a place or a person differently depending on the weather or what time of the day you encounter them, and about how I repeatedly chose to sit brick still in the sun on the curb rather than going for lunch with the others because of an absolute need I have to absorb things, like light, alone and consciously to function properly. Plus, Adam and I could not stop talking about meteors and comets. We named the album "Optica," after the science of light. For "Optica," we took a sharp turn from the greyscale, indoor landscape of our previous album "Work" in pursuit of boldness, and brightness. We decided not to hold back, at all. In our eagerness to please no one but ourselves this time around, we decided to take on the challenge of producing our own music for the first time ever. Our close friend and sound aficionado of choice Johannes Berglund and his studio in Stockholm presented us with an ideal package for the endeavor. A secluded work space close to home but off the earth's surface, a more than generous timeline, and the patient and brilliant sixth member we needed to get through the whole thing safely. Together we made up a downstairs world of explosive colors, big, warm sounds and a very, very uninhibited work process. We never worried about following a clear path, trusting that the conscious decision not to worry would be enough to lead us right, and that right doesn't necessarily have to mean rational or even reasonable. The songs came to present themselves to us bit by bit, through an endless, lighthearted series of erratic choices. A visit from a string quartet, followed by one from a brass section, followed by an urgent need for mental space, followed by an equally urgent lack of actual elbowroom, leading to a full day of synthesizer mayhem courtesy of Carl and Johannes, while Adam and I... well... talked about meteors and comets. We all set prestige and skillfulness aside in favor of experimentation and sheer gusto, and many work days turned into open mic nights. In all honesty, we made up, layered and disfigured so many sounds that by the time we were done playing no one had any idea who played what, where or when. Blessed be those who, when the time comes to discern piquant from monstrous and fearless from idiotic, have plenty of time. As with the music, the lyrics on this album have presented themselves bit by bit. A song that started off as a love story ended up a eulogy, one that began as an intergalactic news report turned into a metaphorical fist fight, and ended up a love story. Still, there was something very deliberate about our choice of words this time around. Or maybe I just see it that way because I was more invested in the process than ever before, and it could be that even the most creative side of me can only take so much freedom. I am robotic and incorruptible in my quest to make lyrics comprehensible, if only to myself. Adam is the opposite, all heart. Together we write good and well, and this was the first time we took full advantage of that mostly fortunate combination. We wrote about love of course, about things we've seen, dreamed and lived. And about time, in all tenses. Light. And then, as always, our ever-present motif of traveling. The places we've been, the ones we're dying to return to, and the ones we hope to see before we die. We made "Optica" in great anticipation of lugging our orchestra across the planet once more, and we can't wait to get out there. And even if our 10th year as a band will bring the end of the world as we know it, we mean to face whatever lies ahead of us outside, in the light, in full color.

You could say we were one of the lucky ones, starting this band in April of 98 without aclue as to what we were doing. We were getting tired of the steady punk rock and metaldiet and we wanted to try our hand at country songs, or do our best Tom Waits/Poguesimpersonation.The trick there was that we couldnt really play our instruments! I had never played guitarbefore and Ben Nichols (lead singer, guitar) had only played bass in other bands.Finding Roy Berry (drummer) and John C. Stubblefield (bassist) solidified the line up andbeing hidden away in Memphis allowed us to woodshed, experiment with differentsounds and create one that was ours alone.Eventually we got out of town, and playing 250 shows year not only made us tight as aband but as a family as well. We are still one of the few bands out there with the originalline up from almost the beginning, and it shows.Picking up Rick Steff on keys allowed us to expand the sound and grow musically. Beingable to play whatever we could think up in our heads and having the music we loved andgrew up on motivate and inspire us to try new things and take chances. We realized thatif you added some horns to Bens lyrics that it took it to the next step, from sad bastardcountry rock to soul and R&B and we realized we were a Memphis band and came by ithonest. We have always brought Memphis with us wherever we went and this justproved it.We came out screaming on 1372 Overton Park. Big sound, bigger horns - like a kid witha new toy we put them on everything and loved it! This record was a marked departurefrom the previous sound and announcement of way things were gonna be now! While 1372 Overton Park was written and the horns added after the fact, Women &Work was written with the horns in mind so it was a little less gung ho and was startingto settle in nicely. Women & Work is one of the best modern Southern rock records inmy opinion and the song On My Way Downtown has almost surpassed Tears DontMatter Much as the crowd favorite almost! This brings us to the new record. All A Man Should Do contains some of the mostresonant lyrics Ben Nichols has ever written, lyrics that read like chapters from his life onthe duality of relationships, getting older, finding where you want to be in this world, andmusically we are broadening our sound. Working with producer Ted Hutt for a third timeat the famous Ardent Studios, we felt comfortable enough to take some chances with apalette of new tones that sound understated yet powerful, bringing life to the storiesbehind the lyrics without overshadowing them. Its also the first time weve ever put a cover song on a record, with a full band version ofbig stars I Fell in Love with a Girl, and having Jody from Big Star sing back-up vocals makes it that more special and amazing. This is a Memphis record in the greatest senseand a perfect finish to the three-part love letter to a city that brought us up and made uswhat we are today.I was 15 years old in 1989. This record sounds like the record I wanted to make when Iwas 15. It just took 25 years of mistakes to get it done. - Ben NicholsHaving Big Star actually sing on your cover of a Big Star song that youre recording atArdent Studios - it doesnt get much more exciting than that. "People see stuff that is already there and ask why I dream stuff that never was and ask why not. This saying describes the LACS, they saw what was already there, had big dreams to be there, and asked the music industry why not? Their hick hop and southern rock sound is stronger than the moonshine they drink. The LACS which is the famous short abbreviation of the Loud Ass Crackers are from the sandy dirt roads of Baxley, Georgia. A South Georgia town more famous for its sawmills and turpentine stills than for having a successful southern rap group. The LACS consist of hip hop artist Clay Uncle Snap Sharpe and lead vocalist / guitarist Brian Rooster King. With a blue collar background they have worked shutdowns with the union and framed many a house to earn enough money keep their music dreams alive. The LACS latest album is 'Outlaw In Me' is available now at www.TheLacsMusic.com

Ben Nichols

Book limousine for Cattle Decapitation

Club Red / Red Owl
2155 East University Drive, Tempe, AZ, 85281

with Revocation, Full of Hell, Artificial Brain, Deadspawn
Well over a decade since its inception, CATTLE DECAPITATION has forged its not-so-humble beginnings in veggie gore-grind into one of extreme metal's most relentless forces, encompassing a sound as schizophrenic as their record collections but with a determined lyrical stance resolutely damning the ills of humanity. With 5 full-lengths and countless tours under their belt as well as having influenced the majority of today's rapidly-growing-in-popularity death/grind hopefuls, CATTLE DECAPITATION continue their own brand of spastic gore-drenched grinding death with their 4th Metal Blade release, "The Harvest Floor" for release on January 20th, 2009. This marks the first release featuring the latest addition to the fold, drummer David McGraw. Fusing 2006's "Karma.Bloody.Karma" writing style with a much anticipated update in technicality, production and brutality, "The Harvest Floor" will undoubtedly be a milestone in the ever-diversifying metal scene that is now dominating the globe. The enhanced portion of the CD version sports an I-pod ready documentary titled "Pandemic: The Damnation Epic The Making of "The Harvest Floor" and the layout reveals the true carnage that the cover art by Wes Benscoter, in it's over the top yet highly conceptual glory, only hints at. "The Harvest Floor" is simply put, an apocalyptic multimedia epic!No strangers to guest appearances, CATTLE DECAPITATION have enlisted some old friends for guest vocals including Ross Sewage (Impaled/Ludicra) and Dino Sommese (Dystopia/Asunder). The band is also very pleased to announce there is a special appearance by Jarboe (Swans), lending her beautifully haunting voice to the epic death dirge "The Harvest Floor". Jackie Perez Gratz (Grayceon/Amber Asylum) graces a couple tracks with her electric cello and Los Angeles noisician John Wiese also lends his electronic/atmospheric expertise to the album further separating the band from the typical "cookie-cutter" approach applied all too often by today's extreme acts. The Harvest Floor shows a return to the engineering and production skills of Billy Anderson (Mr. Bungle, Melvins, Swans) with a combination of drum recording by Zach Ohren (All Shall Perish, Decrepit Birth) to create a modern but unique sound that is disturbingly pummeling. Holed up in Sharkbite studios in Oakland, CA for nearly a month away from the punishing light of day, CATTLE DECAPITATION hid in the depths and have sprouted new hell with the masterpiece that is The Harvest Floor.

Book limousine for Cannibal Corpse

Summit Music Hall
1902 Blake Street, Denver, CO, 80202

with Power Trip, Gatecreeper
To say "Cannibal Corpse are the biggest death metal band in the world" admittedly, is a lofty declaration; one made by Metal Hammer UK in an article back in 2009. Since then, the band has released "Evisceration Plague" and "Torture" both included future classic Corpse cuts, reaped praise from press and fans across the globe, and both accumulated sales on a level rarely seen in death metal. In direct contrast with the "decline" of the music industry, Cannibal Corpse appears to be growing in popularity. 2006s "Kill" debuted on the Billboard Top 200 at #170, followed by "Evisceration Plague" at #66 in 2009, and #38 in 2012 with "Torture." Whether or not that trend will continue is impossible to predict, but George "Corpsegrinder" Fisher (vocals), Alex Webster (bass), Pat O'Brien (guitar), Rob Barrett (guitar), and Paul Mazurkiewicz (drums) plan to continue to expose legions of metal fans to their hyper-brutal brand of death metal in 2014 and beyond. The campaign beings in the summer of 2014 as Coldcock Herbal Whiskey Stage headliners on the Rockstar Energy Drink Mayhem Festival, immediately followed by the release their thirteenth studio album: "A Skeletal Domain."

Book limousine for Molotov

The Bomb Factory
2713 Canton St., Dallas, TX, 75226

with Diamante Elctrico
After the national and international recognition attained by their albums Donde Jugaran Las Ninas? and Apocalypshit, the most controversial rock band returns to the scene with a new production titled: Dance And Dense Denso.Molotov return by their wits to accomplish a sound that is compact and with a message full of sarcastic humor and chaos that have been their trademark since the very beginning, such is the case of "Changuich A La Chichona" or "Punketon", to site a few.Additionally, the band keeps on poking at the wounds of various social problems as expressed in "Frijolero", the first single off their new production, as well as in "ECharles White". On the other hand, the difficulty of a father/son relationship is expressed in Randy's composition, "I'm The One", as well as the critique of the corrupt and theiving attitude of our government demonstrated in "Que Se Caiga El Teatro". Once more, Molotov makes no concessions. In Dance And Dense Denso, the group demonstrates itself as more solid. The collaboration between the four band members was total and although the authorship of the songs could be based on individual incentive, all of them contributed to the construction of that mural of sound, which bounces off the speakers from song to song.Dance And Dense Denso was recorded during the months of June through September of 2002 at Larabee Studios in Los Angeles, converting it into the album to which the musicians of Molotov contributed the most effort and time. The general producer was Gustavo Santaolalla, the associate producer was Anibal Kerpel and the members of Molotov also became involved.Dance And Dense Denso was mixed by the engineer Robert Carranza at Soundcastle, in Riverside, California. This person had previously collaborated with the band and with Mario Caldato in the production of Apocalypshit. These elements managed to accomplish a better sound and execution on behalf of Molotov. In this album Molotov is once again a tight foursome. The four of them execute everything that is heard, from guitars, keyboard, programming, etc., channeling all of the group's strength when on stage. The artwork on the album was designed by Edoardo Chavarin, a Tijuana native living in that bordering city and who has also worked on the albums of Arbol, Dracma, La Vela Puerca, Erica Garcia and recently Kronos Quartet.Dance And Dense Denso not only retakes the cussing, but also the ironic message found in their debut album. It contains a sour social criticism, mixed with simple diversion. This material allows the existence of a much stronger dynamic scene during their presentations. The wait is over, Molotov turn in their third production, Dance And Dense Denso, becoming more proof of the band member's talent. It represents one step more in the evolution of an irreverent group attitude that maintains fidelity to it's initial proposal: strong music, direct lyrics and the best sense of humor for living during these times

Book limo for Cut Copy

North Beach Bandshell
7275 Collins Ave, Miami Beach, FL, 33141

Sometimes things have to get worse before they get better. While the two summers of love were birthed from burdening times, Vietnam and 10 years of Thatcher's reign, they were one hell of a party. Unprecedented explosions of youth culture which tore down the walls of perception through communal elation and celebration. Cut Copy's Free Your Mind creates a fantasy of the next youth revolution, binding the two epochs without the negative baggage. An event told in three dimensions. Turn on, tune inParticipating in the forms of cultural practice that develop in and around the club, the quartet discovered a portal to the UK acid house movement through Melbourne's booming subterranean dance community. Interacting on the dancefloor without uttering a word, jointly reaching a higher state, feeling involved in a secret society and ultimately becoming one with the music. A sanctuary that's seemingly only a few degrees away from a bygone era which connected the dots with warehouse locations revealed by hotlines, pirate FM radio and baggy uniform. The embryonic stage of Free Your Mind saw frontman Dan Whitford take a new approach to songwriting, roughly sketching a song per day for a 4 month period before presenting the fruits to the band and realizing their full potential together. While the album's themes are at the foreground of the completed work, it was never intended as a concept record; rather ideas buried deep beneath the mind's eye, unlocked by the collective consciousness of Whitford, Tim Hoey, Ben Browning and Mitchell Scott. Unity in effect.Recorded in various locations in close proximity to Melbourne's finest coffee houses, the album was largely an in-house affair before the band enlisted the sonic ear of Dave Fridmann (Tame Impala, MGMT, The Flaming Lips) for mixing duties. Given the psychedelic nature of dance records, Dave Fridmann seemed the perfect match. Pilgrimaging out to his secluded forest base in upstate New York, both parties formed an immediate connection.Whitford explains "we would cook communal meals for the band, Dave and studio staff, sleep upstairs at the studio and even play badminton on a makeshift court out the back. It had a real feeling of being part of some utopian artist commune, which I guess fitted right in with the feeling of the record."Free Your Mind launched in unconventional fashion with a lathe set up at Pitchfork Music Festival, literally cutting and copying 120 dubplates Let Me Show You for the lucky few who were at the right place at the right time. Like an illegal press manufacturing X-TC for the global rave, the experiment gave random youtube user debaser22 the keys to share the experience with fans all over, uploading a crude document of his 1st listen. For two weeks this muddy bootleg was the only reference of the track's existence, before the band developed a hypnotizing autostereogram that put viewers into the seat of an altered state, setting the tone for a record that invites participation, activates all senses and enlightens the mind. From using Asger Carlsen's absurd figure manipulations as press shots, the non-traditionalists have forged further to subvert expectations. Placing huge billboards displaying the phrase "Free Your Mind" in remote areas of the Californian desert, Chile, Western Australia, Mexico City, Wales and Detroit, the band utilized their individual art backgrounds to communicate this mysterious catch cry of an unidentifiable movement.Whitford adds that Cut Copy are not preaching an agenda, interpretation is left to the imagination, "whether the billboard sits in decrepit suburbs of Detroit, the mountains of Chile or the Aussie outback, people come back with a totally different impression of what it might mean. It's open ended, with infinite interpretations. I think the concept of freedom is one that's universally positive and timeless, and whatever each person's version of that freedom is, it's a good thing to be reminding people or even just ourselves to be "free".

Book limousine for Bruce Cockburn

Aladdin Theater
3017 SE Milwaukie Ave., Portland, OR, 97202

One of Canadas finest artists, Bruce Cockburn has enjoyed an illustrious career shaped by politics, spirituality, and musical diversity. His remarkable journey has seen him embrace folk, jazz, rock, and worldbeat styles while travelling to such far-flung places as Guatemala, Mali, Mozambique, and Nepal, and writing memorable songs about his ever-expanding world of wonders. My job, he explains, is to try and trap the spirit of things in the scratches of pen on paper and the pulling of notes out of metal. That scratching and pulling has earned Cockburn high praise as an exceptional songwriter and a revered guitarist. His songs of romance, protest, and spiritual discovery are among the best to have emerged from Canada over the last 40 years. His guitarplaying, both acoustic and electric, has placed him in the company of the worlds top instrumentalists. And he remains deeply respected for his activism on issues from native rights and land mines to the environment and Third World debt, working fororganizations such as Oxfam, Amnesty International, Doctors Without Borders, and Friends of the Earth.Throughout his career, Cockburn has deftly captured the joy, pain, fear, and faith of human experience in song. Whether singing about retreating to the country or going up against chaos, tackling imperialist lies or embracing ecclesiastical truths, he has alwaysexpressed a tough yet hopeful stance: to kick at the darkness till it bleeds daylight. We cant settle for things as they are, he once warned. If you dont tackle the problems, theyre going to get worse. For his many achievements, the Ottawa-born artist has been honoured with 12 Juno Awards, an induction into the Canadian Music Hall of Fame, and a Governor Generals Performing Arts Award, and has been made an Officer of the Order of Canada. But he never rests on his laurels. Id rather think about what Im going to do next, says Cockburn. My models for graceful aging are guys like John Lee Hooker and Mississippi John Hurt, who never stop working till they drop, as I fully expect to be doing, and just getting better as musicians and as human beings. His commitment to growth has made Bruce Cockburn both an exemplary citizen and a legendary artist whose prized songbook will be celebrated for many years to come.
